Six apple trees with a variety name beginning with the title of ‘king’ have been planted along Anstey Way, leading to the Foster Road Estate and the King George V playing fields. As a matter of interest, one of the varieties is in fact called King George V.

On Friday 18th November we were invited to speak at the school assembly about this project and following on from that, children at the school helped us plant twenty different varieties of apple tree along the edge of the playing fields and in the enclosed garden. Over the next few years we will help the school prune and nurture the trees as well as adding further trees to the collection around the school car parking area and sports hall.
