With the help of several allotment holders, volunteers at the Community Garden as well as several new project volunteers we met through the Apple day at the Botanical gardens, we extended the project planting at Empty Common, adding a further fourteen apple trees. Planted at the entrance to Empty Common, in two allotments next to Hobson’s Brook and in land cleared along the waterway, what was especially pleasing was to see people of all ages being involved. A particular thanks to Charlotte Synge for bringing together all the volunteers and for her knowledge, experience and commitment.
