Description or History of the Variety
From Grane, Scotland. Another of the same variety is planted near the tennis courts on King George V playing Fields
Two groups of apple trees have been planted on the King George V playing fields. Four trees have been planted alongside the tennis courts a a further eight trees have been planted in a circular formation in an area behind the tennis courts and close to the children’s playing area. All twelve trees planted on the playing fields are varieties which begin with the name ‘Lady’s….’

Early eating apple raised by Mr Jacobs in Chatham, Kent in 1849 and renamed by George Bunyard in 1884 after his best customer - the Sudley estate. A very successful commercial apple in the 1930's grown as far north as Scotland.
