Raised at the Court of Wick, Yatton, Somerset An attractive red flush, widely grown in gardens in the West Country and Wales in the early 1900's, now largely disappeared. Very tolerant to frosts.

Raised by Richard Cox in Slough, Buckinghamshire first exhibited in 1856 and regularly voted as the best eating apple at exhibitions in the late 1800's. First grown commercially around 1862, it remains a firm favourite and widely grown apple.
